Grace Hopper

Grace Hopper, born December 9, 1906, was a computer programer and mathematician. She worked on COBOL, one of the most extensively used computer languages and created the term "debugging" when a moth was found in a computer. She worked with many other supercomputers and programing designs. She also helped calculate rocket trajectories and calibrate minesweepers. This all helped in the war while she was also a part of the US Naval Women's Reserve. Grace Hopper died January 1, 1992.

John McCarthy

John McCarthy, born September 4, 1927, was a computer programer and mathematician. He created LISP, one of the most expressive programing languages and is used in AI. He also created the programing language Elephant 2000. He also coined the word AI in 1955. He also taught at Dartmouth College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton University, and Stanford University. John died October 24, 2011.

Karlheinz Brandenburg

Karlheinz Brandenburg, born June 20, 1954, was a electrical engineer and mathematician. He created the mp3, an audio compression format. He also created the programing language AAC. He is considered the father of the mp3. Brandenburg founded the Brandenburg Research Company that works on producing audio technology. He is still alive today.
